Aaron,
we also need people just as probably many other companies in the
forum. The only reason we are not posting here is because we consider it
impolite. Otherwise you would see posts every Monday or so.
Your definition uses "doesn't go overboard" which will definitely
vary from one point of view to another. And therefore could not be used as a
base for solution.
What I suggest is much simpler: just let those people know there is
another forum for this particular purpose. Job markets and forums are
nothing new and if you, as developer, want to check your price you can go
there any time.
With excuses to you, I finish my part of this thread now, because it
is also off-topic ;-)

ok, lets put it in the PEF forum, which you are also a member of Bobby.

its not annoying at all. as long as they specifically state
"please respond directly to [EMAIL PROTECTED]"
i think a large number of developers are interested in seeing whats
in "demand" in the work force, where else is a better place for those
companies looking for people to find them?
should we redirect them to alt.kiddies for those job offers? as long
as it doesn't go overboard, i think - its ok to get one or two of
these types of email every now and then.
