Yes... Palm even provides an enumeration "firstUserEvent" that you can use
for your events -- it starts a range of event type IDs that Palm guarantees
it won't use.
You do need to be sure your custom event structure is the same size as the
system event structure. One place to look at how to do this would be the
definition of INetEventType in INetMgr.h.
