The alarm needs to be scheduled for datebook.
When you have an alarm scheduled for a prior time,
datebook reschedules when it goes off and all is well.
You have two options.
(1) (Probably best) Find a way to make datebook reschedule
its alarms. Sending it a Reset launch code should work.
(2) (Will work, but you are duplicating code) Reschedule
it for datebook. If you have access to the SDK, datebook's
scheduling algorihms are available to you. You need to compute
when the event's alarm will go off and check if that is both
after the current time and before the next scheduled alarm
for datebook (if any). If all this holds, then reset datebooks
alarm to the time for your new event.

Subject: Adding appointments to the datebook
Hi,
I'm working on a program that will add an appointment to the datebook
programatically. The problem is setting an alarm for the appointment.
Basically, the only time the alarm goes off is when there is an alarm
already scheduled for a time before the alarm for the appointment being
added.
For example, if there was an alarm that should pop up at 4:30 and the alarm
for the new appointment should come up at 4:45, everything works fine.
But if there isn't an alarm scheduled for before the new appointment's alarm
time, no alarm pops up, even after setting it with AlmSetAlarm.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott Knight
