ir packets

i have opened a connection with IrConnectIrLap.  it i believe passes (from
the callbacks and function results but when i go to send a packet i always
fail.  i'm not sure why,  the size shouldn't be too big of the packet.  can
someone provide a small piece of a packet being sent?  thx
