Regarding strange replies to postings to Palm newsgroups:

Most of the time I post to the Palm newsgroup I get
a reply that looks like a reply to the newsgroup sendout
of the message to the list subscribers. In my case it was
a lot of "I'm out of the office and can be contacted on...".
What it looks like is happening is that because you're
identified as the author of the message any response to the
newsgroup broadcast of your list message ends up in your
mailbox. This is the only group I've ever had this happen
with.
I've raised this with the list owner and got two answers:
1. Please notify the list owner if this happens so that the
person involved can be asked to cease and desist.
2. Limitations on the author/bounce settings are part of the
reason they're looking for new mailing list software.
Given the size of this group's subscriber base I suspect that
item 1 is unlikely to solve the problem and item 2 is what
we're waiting for.
