Hi All,

Thanks to Ben Combee and Richard Burmeister! I think you (creator) ID'ed
the problem! I was under the (mistaken) impression you only needed a
Creator ID to work with databases. I have had creator Ids assigned to the
databases in both programs, but the inherited program and it's copy had both
defaulted to STRT as the application creator.

So the database, application, and feature creators are all the same thing?
I went back through all the Palm documentation and the Palm Programming
book. I had referenced mostly the Constructor, Tutorial, and Reference
documents, none of which mention an *application* creator ID. The Companion
document does mention application IDs, but I think it would have taken me a
*long* time to put it all together without outside help.

So how many problems will synching the Post Linker and Database creators
create in existing loaded programs? I'm guessing I need to physically
delete the application and its' database on the Palms and emulator, and make
sure the application is not loaded for an automatic Hotsync backup
operation. Anything else?

Now I've got another issue I need to resolve. If the database ID =
application ID, the database seems to be stored inside the application
somehow. At least I can't see the created database in the Info or Delete
lists. I need standalone databases, *and* valid creator Ids. It looks like
the initial application worked because the database id was different from
the application ID of STRT...

Thanks again for the help,
Steve Stover
