I think video on the Palm makes for great advertisement. I recently had to demonstrate
software at a tradeshow booth. I offered to
beam my business card to all attendants who had a PalmPilot with them, which was about
1/3 of the attendants. I left my Palm in my
video player application (it is more like a poor man's animated PowerPoint player that
I had hacked together for this purpose) which
showed a promotional video for our software. So whenever I switched it on to beam the
business card the video would show up on its
screen. The attendants literally begged me to beam them the short video instead of the
business card, and they even referred their
colleagues to my booth just to get the video (it is amazing how many PalmPilot users
don't know their device has a built in beam
function).
I also have to admit that I really enjoyed the recently released demo of TealMovie.
60secs of full color, full screen video with
digitized sound in just 1MB. Great stuff!
