Basically I have some data stored in a structure on the database.
It seems to remove this data when I exit the program as if it wasn't
committed to the database or something. This is actually what I want to do
but I can't seem to recreate it, barring having to manually remove all the
records myself.

what exactly do you want to do?
if you want to keep the state of the application, you might want to
save some information inside a preference structure :)
