Not quite self-extracting, but RUnZip (part of ZBoxZ GPLed source and
binaries at palmboxer.sourceforge.net) uses ZLib compression, but it
requires PalmZLib (about 32k) and RUnZip itself (~4k). But this is
fixed overhead, and the compression is 55-60% for most apps.
