Hello,

What is the better way to write software that would detect the launching of
other applications on a PalmOS device, system traps or launch codes?

Our current approach is using system traps but are very conerned about the
risks that might be introduced in the future. Below are our concerns:

1. We've heard that Palm OS 4.0 will only support partial traps and 5.0 will
not support traps at all.
2. Is using traps going to slow down the Palm OS device performance?
3. Should we incorporate our software into Heckmaster, or should we build
our own application? (We've heard that Heckmaster lacks a safe delete
implementation!)
4. Using traps will require user's proper interaction in installing and
deleting hecks. Will this break the Palm OS user experience?
5. Depending on how other applications or hecks use traps, there might be
conflicts between our software and others.
6. Any concerns in testing?

The above are just our concerns. We haven't had answers to our questions
yet. Any inputs to the above will be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

RJ
