Hmmm, don't some countries use really strange formatting conventions
like this:
5.0000.00
? That is, sometimes every 4 digits, sometimes after only 2, depending
on rules I've forgotten. I seem to remember a column in CUJ by PJ
Plauger on i18n that covered this.
