        I do agree.  And, you can have your little makefile do a lot of working
for you, like moving files around, deciding which ones should go where (say
you  are writing you code such that it has platform independent and
platform specific stuff.  You could then tell it whether to compile to a
Palm, or WinCE, or Helio (did I scare you, Aaron? ;), or whatever, and let
the Makefile choose the appropriate libraries, headers, and source code
files.  Then, you can tell it "Make install" or "make emulate" ;)

        Well, I must be honest and say I have not used it yet.  I am still trying
to get up to speed again in doing really elegant makefiles... and learning
Palm ;)
