I am implementing categories across numerous databases (vs. the typical Palm method of having all of the records in a category within a single database). Basically, I have a single "master" database that I use with the category routines to display the CategorySelect list. I then do the work myself of assigning the category to the database in question. This is working really well except for when the user mergers a category. If the user renames a category to another, the Palm OS will put up a nice dialog asking if the user wants to merge the categories. I can't tell if that has happened or if the category that was renamed was deleted. Before I go and implement the CategorySelect routine myself, does anyone have any ideas around this problem? I finally signed the agreements to get source to the OS but that was a couple weeks ago and I haven't received it yet. How long does it normally take?
