The second method is correct. Just define your own Edit menu starting at
10000 and all will work fine. Just make sure they're in the right order and
have the right keyboard shortcuts by verifying the generated header file.

The 3.5 manuals got updated in Summer 2000 from their original version.
There are some bug fixes to the manuals, so its worth it to download and
replace.
