If the creator ID and database name are the same AND the database version is
higher, the
RAM version will HIDE the ROM version. Of course, it cannot replace the ROM
version, but
because it is a higher version, the OS will find the newer RAM version
instead of the older
ROM version. This wastes a little bit of the users memory, but sometimes is
worth it to provide
additional features beyond the built-in application.

Greetings,

I had a chat with David Fedor the other day, and my understanding was that
there was a way to replace the Rom one with the modified one as long as
creator Ids match and the version number of the new app was higher than the
one in ROM. Am I being stupid here and did I get it wrong ? Or is there
really a way to do so ?
A Mr Philip Sheard was kind enough to remind me that because the apps are
part of the Rom there was no way to do so. I'm not so sure. Would someone
from Palm care to clarify ?

Kind regards,

Arona Ndiaye,
