While testing a conduit we're developing, I noticed that if I start with a
brand-new emulator session file (it happens to be a Palm IIIc running
OS3.5), when the HotSync finishes, the system puts up a form telling the
user that the system must now be reset by pressing the "Reset" button on the
form. On subsequent HotSync's with the same session file, this form is not
displayed, and it has never been displayed when synching with an actual
IIIc.

Our app is not doing anything deliberate to cause this, so there must be a
bug in it somewhere. What could cause this form to be displayed, either
intentionally or unintentionally?

I've posted this question to the emulator forum and the conduit forum, but
haven't gotten a response.

Thanks,

Mark Peters

P.S. - Here is some possibly relevant info about our conduit and how our app
interacts with it:

The conduit runs on a PC, with the emulator running on a Mac and configured
to HotSync across the network to the PC.

The conduit requests info from the client at the start of the sync by using
the sysAppLaunchCmdHandleSyncCallApp launch code.

The conduit deposits a number of databases on the handheld which are
integrated into the app's standard databases upon receipt of the
sysAppLaunchCmdSyncNotify launch code.
