filestream 4k segments

As PalmOS splits the file into the segments/records and places the 'DBLK'
header on each record, does it rectify this on file read or will I need to
manually remove the 'DBLK'?

At the moment any compressed file larger 4104 bytes corrupts my uncompress
routine and I get an uncompressed file of rubbish.
