Smart phone menu question...

We have a user with the new Kyocera Smart Phone. When they try to use a menu
item, the menus immediately appear, then disappear. We don't have a phone
internally to try it with. Is there something odd with the ROM that you have
to do/not do to make menus work fine on the Kyocera?
