All,

Palm Reporter 1.2 has been released.

The Palm Reporter is a trace utility that can be used together
with the Palm OS Emulator. Applications running inside the Emulator
can send information in real-time to the Reporter. This information
can help to pinpoint problems that would be hard to troubleshoot
executing code step by step or setting breakpoints. To observe
traces, simply run your application and the Reporter at the same
time.

The Windows version can be downloaded here:
http://www.palmos.com/dev/tech/tools/emulator/reporter_12.zip

A few system updates may be necessary if you are running Windows 95,
98 or NT. They are described in the "troubleshooting" section of the
documentation.

The Mac version is available here:
http://www.palmos.com/dev/tech/tools/emulator/reporter_12.sit

These archives contain both the sender library that is used by POSE
and the viewer application that will display the traces. The library
should be copied to the folder where the Palm OS Emulator is located.
After that, you should be able to set the trace target to "Reporter"
in POSE's tracing options, and to run the sample PRC provided with
the Reporter.

The tracing API is a subset of the HostControl interface. You can
find sample tracing code in the Reporter's documentation.

The 1.2 version fixes the crash that was happening on Windows 2000,
and introduces a mechanism for curstomizing the filters list.
