My understanding is that the text with note item style is there to allow the
field to adjust it's width based on the number of icons the item has. If all
you want to do is display a single icon (or leave the area blank for some
records), I think you should use a custom item style and just draw the icon
in your draw procedure. It's a character in the Symbol font. To figure out
all the details, just check out the source code for Address. It's list view
uses this approach.
