I've been experimenting with ROM modifications, using editROM v0.94beta to do this. I used editROM to successfully modify the ROM image on my "tester" unit, a PalmIIIxe. Now, I'm ready to make the same modifications to my primary unit, a PalmVIIx. Unfortunately, when I attempt to open my VIIx's ROM image with editROM, I receive the following error message. "Access violation with address 0045630A in module " EDITROM.EXE ". Reading from address FF8C1BB8." I've transferred a second image from my VIIx, but I get the same error message. No indication of a problem existed when I transferred the ROM image from the unit to my PC and I can open the image w/o trouble using Emulator v3.1. And, I can continue to open my IIIxe's ROM image with editROM w/o trouble. Can anyone shed light on what the problem could be? Any suggestions? Direct e-mail copies appreciated.
