I've experienced similar problems launching POSE.  I configured CW7 to
launch POSE, and since then my problems (at least with launching POSE) have
gone away.  ;)

You can launch POSE directly from CW by changing the Palm Connection
Settings inside the Preferences dialog in CW (Under the Edit Menu Item)
