One possibility to consider: a lot of people do not appear to understand how
many files and folders they have to transfer from Windows to the Mac when
transferring a resource "file". So, maybe the resource file was only
corrupt on the Mac.
For a single "resource file", there is an .rsrc file, a (possibly hidden)
folder, Resource.frk, and that folder contains another .rsrc file with the
same name (the resource fork). Few Windows users are aware of this because
under the Windows OS, a file is a file, not a file plus a folder plus
another file. Few Mac users are aware of this for the same reason that they
don't appear to understand what file extensions are -- they are hidden from
them by the OS.
