How are you asking for nil events?
And what is the correct settings you are talking about?
Your event handler can receive some nil events even if you don't ask...
usually you have to check that the nilEvent you are receiving is the right
one (enought ticks are elapsed)...
Please explain what are you trying to do, otherwise I'm just guessing to
your problem :)
