Yes. That routine was removed and rewritten with knowledge of the
underlying structures, so that it could adjust pointers correctly. The
only thing it doesn't handle is the array of strings in a list, so if
you've declared a static list of strings at build time, don't create new
items on that form. (Other obvious thing is to set the array of strings at
runtime.)
We knew about the limitation with lists before 4.0 was done, but there
wasn't time to add that support before we had to ship.
