It *IS* possible with OmniSky, but not directly with a VII series.
The VII only implements a partial socket - just enough to do http and
a few other things. You could adapt a messaging system to do a
hotsync (or the equivalent) over the VII connection, but it would be
slow and/or expensive.
(You theoretically could write an "IP over HTTP" socket layer...).
