Yes, but the approach depends entirely on what version of the Palm OS the device is 
running.

A complete explanation of how to do this for the entire history of all Palm and 
Licensee devices requires a fairly substantial chunk of sample source code, as the 
mechanisms to detect the device ID has evolved over time. However, beginning with Palm 
OS 3.5, we've standardized on three system features which you can retrieve to obtain 
this info. Please refer to sysFtrNumOEMDeviceID, sysFtrNumOEMHALID, and 
sysFtrNumOEMCompanyID in SystemMgr.h for details.
