You can turn off the editable attribute bit with the call to
FldSetAttributes()
Take a look at the FieldAttrType bitfield data structure within the
FieldType
data structure.

Hi folks,
can we enable disable a field control so that it wont respond to pen inputs
the way we do it for controls.
Does palm UI guide line encourage enabling or disabling the fields ( as
Windows ).
