need some help with xoring ...

hi guys,

i need some help with xoring .. never done anything like this before .. i
need this for an authentication procedure.
I am given a string, I have to xore each byte in my password with the
equivalent modulo byte in the string and form a result string. Can somebody
please tell me how this is done ??
