We have no plans to document this mechanism because we will probably be deprecating it
(possibly in favor of some other mechanism, or possibly not) in a future version of
the Palm OS. Similar advice applies with regard to patching system traps, as we're
planning to deprecate that capability as well to some as-yet-unknown degree.
If there's absolutely no way for you to write your application without patching system
traps, then I recommend you use the dynamic [storage] heap allocation approach to
disassociate the routine(s) from your application. If the patch is large, consider
giving it its own code segment, as this will simplify the code required to find and
copy the necessary patch routines.
