This is sort of a marketing question that I'm posing here because
of its technical implications, potential importance to many of us,
and no obvious other list to use.
I'm trying to make some decisions about what to support. What I'd
like to know, as either absolute numbers or percentage breakdown
are the installed base and growth curve for:
- the various Palm/TRGpro/Visor/etc models
- the different Palm OS releases
- what OS and rev Palm users use for their desktop
- country / language of user
- how many users of expandable models actually have added
memory cards
- how many users purchase third-party Palm software at all,
on-line, and in stores
- any other background issues you guys think would be relevant
to consider
Any ideas on where to look or who to talk to? Precise numbers
might be hard to come by, but any SWAGs could be helpful. And
I'd also be interested in hearing what other people have decided
to support (How much memory? Which OS revs? etc.) and why.
Lastly, is there a forum where third-party developers can discuss
business issues amongst themselves?
