DmGetRecord not working...

Hi folks,
  i ve created a databse and opened it using dmreadwrite flag.
I ve successfully added record to it.Now when i try to read it using
DmGetRecord it returns NULL.
But when i use DmQueryReord it gives me a valid handle.
Am i doing something wrong in using DmGetRecord....
