what to do when new fails......

Hi folks,
    The OS closes the app when new fails so how should a palm application
shld react.

1. Shld it follow the default behavoir and do nothing..
2. Shld it display a msg box and quit the app.

   I mean to ask is there any standard behavoir for that or is anything
specified in thr UI guidelines....
