When you use a text item style, the table is creating a field for you and
setting it up to have the proper bounds. Therefore, you would need to get
access to this field in order to tell it what colors to use. The field is
private to the table. To make matters worse, fields don't currently support
setting their colors. They always use the UI colors. You may want to get
access to the source code so you can see how all this works. I'm afraid
there are no easy answers for this one.
