I had a similar problem a while back, except that the problem I was
encountering was on color machines. I would set a bitmap's color to green,
and everything would look okay. I would save my project and try it, and
then the bitmap color would magically change to red or someother strange
color. It sounds like what you are experiencing could be similar.

It has been a while since this has happened to me, but if I recall
correctly, I think the problem was that I hadn't installed that latest patch
for CW. I'm not even sure what the latest version is now. I got everything
to work and so I don't want to mess with it. But you may want to check on
the Palm site or the Metrowerks site to see if there is an update available
for the version you are using.

Subject: Bitmap Colors Reversed - Let me rephrase this... need answers.

I have an application that for some reason shows up two different
ways on some calculators. I have been advised this is not related to
backlighting, as the users have told me the backlight is off.

What happens is that on some devices black is black and white is
white, as I created the bitmaps. On some other devices (noteably the
Kyocera), black is white and white is black (reversed image).

Development question:

If I write an application that uses b/w bitmaps, shouldn't they show
up the same on all Palms?

What would cause (eliminate backlighting for now) them to display
differently on different types of machines?

Shouldn't bitmaps be displayed the same on every version of the OS?

One other clue. Bitmaps that were b/w only seem to display
correctly. When I use bitmap families, some palms display correctly
others display reversed?

Any detailed help on this would be appreciated.

Mike
