I am currently working on a Windows (not palm) application (originally authored by another party), which reads the address.dat, and datebook.dat files of the palm desktop application. ie. the program is reading and digesting the records from these files. >From reading the code it is obvious to me that they had access to detailed specs (file format) so that they could parse the records into meaningful fields. (such as what is the offset and byte length and data type of the lastname field) My question is "where can I locate these detailed specs so that I may add code to get the fields that they omitted?" I would also like to implement an analogous routine to read in the todo.dat records. I perused the palm web site and couldn't find anything.
