It sounds like you might want to use a progress dialog. Read about the
Progress Manager in the docs for details. You just call PrgHandleEvent and
deal with aborting when you learn that the user pressed the Cancel button.
The Progress Manager uses a callback, so it's a little tricky. Still, I'm
surprised more apps don't use it.
