Thanks.  Actually, I think this is just the way PalmOS v3.1 works --
annoying, but true.

I was frustrated when I compared the behavior of my program's scrolling
field with Memo Pad, but I was comparing it with the behavior of Memo Pad on
Palm OS v3.5, while my program was running in POSE on a 3.1 ROM.  On my
Handspring Visor (PalmOS v3.1), and on POSE with a 3.1 ROM, Memo Pad
displays the same undesirable behavior my program did.  On PalmOS v3.5, my
program works as I would expect.

So it looks like PalmOS v3.1 fails to generate fldChangedEvents in this
case.  I guess if it's good enough for Memo Pad, though, it'll do for my
app.
