or the 3rd option, draw directly to the screen.  Use a gadget to determine
if the user clicked the time display area.  Use WinDrawChars to draw your
time string.  Then you won't have to worry about managing label or edit
field memory.
I prefer this method when displaying fields that don't require text input
and will get updated quite often.
