As far as I know, the answer is no. I don't think the hardware supports
detecting how hard you're pressing. I'm not a hardware guy, but I think it's
basically a sandwich of two transparent resistive surfaces. When you press,
you make a contact between them, and based on measured resistances between
various edges of the two layers, you can tell where you pressed. At least
that's how I think it works.
I think there are some technologies for touch pads that can detect pressure
while also working over an LCD display. If I recall, one of the traditional
art input pad companies was showing off a model that had an integrated color
LCD panel. The result was an impressive art tool.
