Dear Listers

I have encountered another timing glitch. As you may recall from
previous threads, I require to execute an algorithm at regular one
second intervals (prototyping on a iiixe).

We have a charging cradle from Revolve Designs with the expectation
of unlimited on-time. This is an excellent well made product BTW.

The problem is that my program appears to be preempted by the OS
for about 50 ms each second while the battery is charging which
lasts approximately 40 min and occurs at about 18 hour intervals.
The result in a 5% error in timing and consequently in the result
of the algorithm.

My theory is that the OS is updating the battery icon. Is there any
way to prevent the OS from reacting to the battery voltage? Does
anyone have any other ideas of the cause of the problem.

Oh and BTW I managed a work around for the midnight glitch by
suspending the computational part of my program for about 30
seconds after the midnight hour.

Sincerely and Thanks in advance for any help

Herb Valliant
