I have both these books, and they are both excellent resources -- what one lacks, the other makes up for. However, neither of them has information on what I'm trying to do (using IrLib for one, and figure out why my table cells aren't editable for 'nuther). I did notice 6 or 7 /other/ palm programming books on the shelves at Borders the other day, though, so maybe one of those has the information I seek :) Palm Programming (the Developers Guide) seems more oriented to programming very specific sorts of apps, namely ones similar to the example. Useful as a how-to more than a reference, I think. The Palm OS Programming Bible also has a 'build our app as we go' approach, but I think the author tends to explain more about exactly what steps are being performed, and why -- there is more digression into each topic than in the Guide. Not hard to see then that the Bible is twice as thick as the Guide :). I've used this book more as a reference than a recipe book as it explains each topic in more depth. So in summary I would definitely recommend both -- there are certainly equal amounts of dog-eared pages and thumbprints on my copies.
