<personal opinion, not speaking as palm developer support> The first edition of Palm OS Programming: the Developer's Guide was a great book and is what I used to learn how to do palm programming (along with Bachman's book). The Palm OS Programming Bible is also a great book and because it was written for OS 3.5 whereas the aforementioned 1st edition of the Developer's Guide was written for 3.1 (or was it 3.0), the bible was a more useful reference over the last year and that would be my guess as to why it has a higher rating at Amazon. Now that the second edition of the Developer's Guide has been updated and covers OS 4.0 it is probably worth buying simply because it is the most up to date. Further, if you are semi new to palm programming I don't think having two books kicking around is going to do you any harm. Note that I have not seen the final version of the 2nd edition of the developer's guide.
