I don't have much data for you, but the primary speed differences between Palm devices come from things like this:
1) CPU speed varies from 16 Mhz to 33 Mhz depending upon the model of DragonBall used. 2) Memory wait states can slow down memory access, but I don't know if there is any variation here. 3) Blitter performance varies greatly depending upon bit depth, screen resolution, and the presence or absence of graphics acceleration hardware. If you can get your hands on an old device such as a PalmPilot or Palm III, that should do well as a baseline. You can expect all other devices to be at least as fast (discounting graphics operations). If I recall, the Visor Edge, like the m500 series, uses the 33 Mhz DragonBall VZ. This results in zippy performance compared to earlier devices. You might want to buy an old model device on eBay. -- Peter Epstein -- For information on using the Palm Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palmos.com/dev/tech/support/forums/
