I wrote pdbbuilder as a convienance. The format is simple, although a bit tediouse, however I created pdbbuilder for fast prototyping. It is not meant as a replacement for conduits. The CDK takes the format out of the equation, and I assume that if they change the format the conduit routines will still work. Where pdbbuilder wont. It is a developer tool. Its nice (sometime neccessary) to test your database routines with live data, prior to developing a conduit, and especially when doing proof of concepts or still in the design phase. If you had a static database (a dictionary for example) then that would be a good reason to use pdbbuilder because that data will not change at least not by the user.
