That was just a different way of understanding 
"other than using bitmaps". For me it meant
"without glyphs", but probably 
I misunderstood it.

I thought I got the "jist" of his question, which was:

   "I've looked at FntDefineFont but the FontPtr structure doesn't
   look very future proof.  Is there any specific way to draw numbers
   in large fonts (other than using bitmaps) directly to a window."

FntDefineFont() may not be very "future proof", but it does work, and the
application does NOT require access to the members of the structure.
Anyways, to me "drawing numbers in large fonts (***OTHER*** than using
bitmaps)" means he wants to draw a font, using a custom font.  He said he
did NOT want to use bitmaps.

If I got it wrong, so sorry for wasting your precious, valuable time.  I'll
strive really hard NOT to be helpful from now on. :)
