Stuart:

There is a very reasonable solution for wireless applications for the
PalmOS. I suggest visiting http://www.astawireless.com for more
information.

ASTA Provides different types of servers (and the source code if you need
it) for different needs. They also have a client piece for the Palm. I can
say that PocketStudio 1.0 (http://www.pocket-technologies.com) has ASTA
samples built in. PocketStudio 1.1 (due out in the next week or so)
includes ASTA project wizards that layout the code for you. The wizard will
actually connect to the server during development time and let you pick the
tables and fields you want to work with. Once the wizard is complete, you
will have a good starting place for a complete wireless thin client
application.

If you are not using PocketStudio (although I think you should *at least*
check us out <g>), ASTA provides clients for just about every development
tool for the PalmOS (and PocketPC, Windows, and Linux) including
CodeWarrior, NS/Basic, AppForge, and the rest.

IMHO Steve (ASTA) has good pricing, solid technology, and great support.

Cheers!

recommend a cheaper, internationally available, more lightweight solution to
save us from rolling our own?
