What value have you specified for max characters of the field? Sounds like it's too small...

In the form I have a few fields defined in a pilrc resource file. The form displays correctly, but I cannot make any changes to the fields. Ive set the EDITABLE flag to the fields in the pilrc file. I am able to programatically set the field text to a string, and I can erase characters in that string but I cannot add any new characters. If I try, i get a single 'beep' from the device. What am I not doing? Im using the IBM j9 VM if that makes any difference.
