There is also a loss of flexibility in using higher level languages. This generally emerges as a loss of efficiency and slower execution times, but there are also cases where high level languages just cannot do what lower level languages can simply because of the support available. I would disagree that using higher level languages necessarily decreases development time. Finding bugs is a major part of development and with higher level languages it can be more tricky to do that in certain circumstances. Essentially, it depends on the application being written as to what benefits each type of development language can offer. So. Rather than choosing a language to develop in. One should really choose the language that suits what you want to do.
