That is because you know so little about MS Windows.

What do you think will happen? The exact results of your suggested
action depend on which version of Windows and which file system you are
using.

I agree that the Palm OS is wonderful, but I am quite tired of the
Windows bashing that goes on here. This is NOT a forum for
Windows-bashing; it is a forum for discussing Palm OS programming. If
you want to use Windows as a comparison to Palm OS to explain something
about how the Palm OS works, that's fine. But to do so, you will first
have to learn more about Windows so you can make proper comparisons.

Also, you should consider this: Palm OS devices do not exist in
isolation. They are currently marketed as desktop extensions, not
desktop replacements. Since more people use some version of MS Windows
than any other OS, more Palm Powered handheld owners are running MS
Windows than any other OS, and more Palm OS developers are likely to be
running some version of MS Windows than any other OS (I know there are
some here who would like to disagree, but facts is facts).

If you want to continue to tell people how much you hate Windows and
how much you hate Microsoft, etc., there are many other places you can
go to do it. So, please go there when you feel the urge.

PS: Most people believe that the Palm OS *is* designed for idiots. By
that, I mean that the OS is well designed to be easily used by a wide
variety of non-technical users. That is one of its greatest strengths.
Stick with Linux if you want an OS that apparently does not desire to
be "designed for idiots".
